Today, Ukraine celebrates one of its most significant and meaningful days – the Day of Defenders of Ukraine.
This special holiday is a time to honor those who stand courageously in defense of our country and our freedom. It is a day to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who shoulder the immense responsibility of safeguarding our citizens and preserving our territorial integrity.
A state without defenders is simply a piece of land, one that invaders will inevitably seek to conquer.
Ukraine has long faced difficult trials on its path to independence. Our soldiers exhibit extraordinary heroism and courage in their mission to protect the peace and security of our people. They march to the frontlines, risking their lives so that we may continue to live in peace and security. Thanks to them, our homeland remains independent.
Today, we remember and pay tribute to those who have given their lives for Ukraine, whether during the turbulent times of the Cossacks, the liberation struggles of the early 20th century, or the dark days of totalitarianism. And this legacy of bravery continues today, as our defenders counter russian aggression.
